Yesterday, my fellow STEM Communication Officer, Michael Wilson, and I presented at the Australian Science Communicators Conference in Melbourne. Our workshop demonstrated how we use Design Thinking to empower young people to take on global and local challenges. Participants then got hands-on experience of Design Thinking through a condensed version of one of our programs, where they collaborated to solve issues related to Melbourne’s rapid population growth. We had an absolute blast and it was marvellous to be able to connect with so many of the vibrant, supportive Australian science communicators community!
