Sod Turning Ceremony

Our sod turning event went off without a hitch and was very positively received. We were fortunate enough to have Hon Lily D’Ambrosio Minister for Energy, Environment and Climate Change, Danielle Green MP and Bronwyn Halfpenny MP in attendance. Melbourne Polytechnics Chair, Bill Forwood was the consummate MC and Rob Wood spoke of the importance of the Tech School in one of his last official events as CEO of Melbourne Polytechnic. We officially welcomed Melbcon as the builders of the Tech School. Most exciting of all was the opportunity for our Student Ambassadors to put on the hard hats and hi vis gear to start the construction work!

At the Sod Turning Ceremony we also launched our values.  The values were formulated by members of our Tech School committee and had input from our student ambassadors.  We discussed at length what the values mean to us and what we aspire to be.  Below is a visual representation of the values pulled together by Tess our resident Science Communicator.  We’ll look to have them displayed proudly in our Tech School when it opens.
