AFTER-SCHOOL PROGRAMS

Our After-School Programs provide a practical, informal way for young people, teachers, community and industry to engage with science, technology, engineering, art and maths (STEAM).

CORE PROGRAMS

Core Programs, along with our Specialist Programs, are our main offerings to partner secondary schools based on their point allocation. They are developed in partnership with our local community and centre around solving local and global challenges. Our bi-annual Design Challenge and Inquiry programs will be available to our partner schools as Remote Learning Programs following the delivery period at the Tech School.

IMMERSION PROGRAMS

Immersion Programs are available to our partner schools outside their point allocation and provide an in-depth experience in a particular discipline or industry. Many of these programs are deliveried online or in a blended learning mode, and run across a term or longer period than our Core & Specialist Programs.

REMOTE LEARNING PROGRAMS

Remote Learning Programs are available to our partner schools outside their point allocation. Teachers are able to access online curriculum and support resources to run all or part of these programs at their school. To complement delivery, the Tech School can virtually deliver sessions to support different stages of our innovation process, including empathy, ideation, developing a MVP, and prototyping.

SPECIALIST PROGRAMS

Specialist Programs, along with our Core Programs, are available to our partner schools based on their point allocation. developed in partnership with local industry, and are usually facilitated or supported by an industry partner. They have a particular focus on the growth industries of Melbourne’s north. By doing so, they broaden student views on potential local career pathways.

STATEWIDE PROGRAMS

Some of our Remote Learning Programs are also freely available to all Victorian goverment school teachers via Fuse or Arc.

MASTERCLASSES

Masterclasses provide students with an in-depth experience in a particular area or technology. Aimed at serving the needs of our partner schools, they are designed to complement the curriculum while providing specialised training and access to the advanced technologies available at the Tech School. DESIGN THINKING WORKSHOPS

In 2021, we will be offering a number of one-off sessions and series of professional learning workshops around Design Thinking. These programs will include practical ways to implement the methodology and inquiry-based learning in classroom teaching. Check back soon for the full list.

TECH SKILL-UPS

Each 90-minute session covers a different tech skill. These sessions are a great way to build digital literacy skills that can be incorporated into classroom teaching to expose your students to new learning experiences. The sessions run throughout the school year and dates will be released at the start of each term.
